Loo Time

I proposed a software- Loo Time: helps all ages and genders locate, book, and pay for clean washroom facilities on the highways of India
November – December 2022
It’s difficult to find Public toilets that are well-maintained, clean and hygienic on the highways of India. This poses a health risk and a problem for all ages and genders.
Problems of the public restrooms on highways
Low funds- poor maintenance
Toxic smells
Inability to locate while driving
Unsanitary, unhygienic
Sulabh Shauchalaya
Sulabh Shauchalaya’s concept is powerful and successful but is meant for a different target audience. Since it is funded by NGOs and the pay-to-use fees are minuscule compared to a private venture, the hygiene standards are not trustworthy. It is also a concept for urban and rural locations, not for the highways.
Travlounge
This project is apt to the problems people face regarding public washrooms on highways. But we are unsure of the infrastructure.
Lavato
The concept of Lavato solves most of the current problems faced by the people. Although it has a range of issues due to the structure of the establishment, the formality and customs to use the restrooms, and the whole feel of a premium establishment are not relevant to quickly stopping at a decent bathroom to relieve oneself.
Mad(e) in Mumbai- The highway toilet
The plans that Mad(e) in Mumbai have, target all the infrastructural and sewage problems that result in terrible foundational experiences. On their website, they target 25 different problems within the plan of The Highway Toilet. It is the most ideal infrastructural solution but has not been executed by the company.

The user wants to look for a Loo Time Station closest to them. They then pick the nearest Loo Time and add facilities to the cart.
Similar to skimming through a menu, the user is presented with a list of facilities that they can add to their cart.
The user wants to view the Loo Time e-Ticket of his booking. Then he wants to share the e-Ticket with his wife via Whatsapp.
Viewing the e-Ticket is easy when it pops up on the first screen of the application. The e-Ticket gives access to the Loo Time facilities at the booked Loo Station!
Conclusion
Accessibility to safe and hygienic establishments on the highways of India
Route mapping
Variety of facilities and packages
